Kate's Canine Coaching is a small business focused on using positive reinforcement techniques to support owners to help their dogs with any problems they are experiencing.
As a fully qualified dog trainer with the IMDT and fully insured with the Pet Business Insurance, I am dedicated to empowering dog owners to develop a strong bond with your furry companions and address any challenges you are facing effectively.
Being a positive reinforcement based trainer means I will never suggest any techniques, strategies or tools that will cause your dogs fear, harm or distress.

A little about me
Hi! My name is Kate and I am the founder of Kate's Canine Coaching. I have a German Shepherd called Keela who has been my biggest inspiration and best teacher! She is the reason I fell in love with dog training.
Keela finds life in general quite hard to navigate and changed my whole outlook on what having a dog meant for me and my family.
I have had to re learn everything I thought I knew about dogs, how they communicate, their body language and how to ensure all of her needs were met when she couldn't cope with your bog standard dog walk, and do you know what, I've loved every new bit of learning!
Every dog is different, unique and with their own personalities and quirks, so it makes sense that there is no "one size fits all" strategy. I use my knowledge of dog behaviour and body language, along with using the experts of that individual dog (which is the guardian every time!) to unpick where things are not working as well as they could be, and then create a plan to improve things for the dog guardian, their family and of course the dog, moving forward.
Safety is always paramount for me, and that's for the dog, the people around the dog and for myself. Right up there next to safety, is the emotional, mental and physical wellbeing of the dog and their family. Ensuring everyone's needs are met is important to me and rather than focusing on how to stop an unwanted behaviour, I look at why the dog feels a need to repeat that behaviour, what is the dog getting out of it and then finding a more suitable behaviour that is equally as reinforcing for the dog, still meeting that specific need, but is more appropriate for the family.
I am not only here to support your dogs, I am here to support you as dog guardians as well. I promise to celebrate your successes with you when things go right, and to be there to listen, support and guide you when things don't go to plan. I am here to coach you on how to learn to love life with your dog again, to add more enrichment to their lives and strengthen the bond, trust and relationship between you and your dog.

I always offer a free half hour no obligation Teams call to discuss what your struggling with and for you to make sure I am good fit for you and your family before committing to work with me. If you then decide you would like to book some sessions in with me, my current prices are:
£35 for a 1 hour coaching session
If you would like to pre book 3 or more coaching sessions with me, I offer each session at a reduced rate of £30 per session, but all sessions booked need to be paid in full 24 hours before the date of the first session.
